Final Preparations - Haulout

The tension mounts as we move into our final two weeks. Wilma passed through our proposed track. See the weather links referenced above. We had gale force winds (34 knots) at the dock last night. As I doubled up the dock lines, I reflected on what it would like battling 30 foot seas in 60 knot winds - terrifying at best. Clearly we want to avoid this at all costs. Full Circle has been hauled out and deemed sea worthy. She weighed 28,000 pounds with probably another 3000+ pounds of gear and food yet to be added. All engine fluids have be changed. The water tanks (170 gallons) have been cleaned and are ready for filling. The water alone weighs 1462 pounds. We will begin loading the boat this week in anticipation of a November 9 departure.
