Provision, repairs, and fuel

We spent our last day making final preparations for our voyage up to the Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas. It was a relief to be off the roads of terror. We attempted to have the motor on the refrigerator fixed, but it needs new brushes, which I will have to order. We purchased three bags of ice to preserve the food we already had purchased. Refueling turned out to be another third world experience. We siphoned fuel from a 50 gallon drum. But to do this, we had to move to a very high concrete pier which nearly tore the stanchions and life lines off the boat. Oh yes, I also had to clear customs and update the web site. It was a busy day, and as usual, we were much relieved to get out to the open ocean once again.

We departed Ocean World at 1600 for an overnight sail to Big Sand Cay in the Turks and Caicos, about 90 miles north west. The wind is light but we are hoping to be able to sail.
