Sail Across the English Channel and Car Tour of Cornwall

August 16 - September 5, 2001

Our first week was spent sailing across the English Channel to Cherbourg France, on to the Channel Islands, and back to England for a total of about 200 miles. We left from the small village of Hamble near Southampton, through the Solent around the Isle of Wight and across the Channel. Our second two weeks were spend driving through Cornwall, the toe of England from Plymouth to Lands End. We also managed to squeeze in visits to Bath and Stonehenge. After reflecting on the two modes of transportation, I think the driving was more dangerous than the sailing. We also learned a new se of English Vocabulary.
