Saimin is a noodle soup unique to Hawaii.

It is a blend of Chinese, Vietnamese, Philipino, Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian, and Portuguese cultures and consists of noodles, sweet pork, green onions, vegetables, egg, and fish cake. It has been said that the addition of Saimin to the McDonald's menu is the first time that McDonalds deviated from its standard menu to accomodate local tastes. We had ours at Zippy's - an Hawaiian institution.
