"In keeping with the tradition of MOW"

Did you ever see the movie, Truman. This was a real live Trumanville, the most sanitized and sterilized place I have ever seen. There was no dirt. They clean the dump. Everyone has the name Albury, and everyone looks and sounds the same. Nearly everyone is desended from the Albury family and everyone is proud to share the same name. Our waitress in the Hibicus cafe clamed it was not like the Kentucky hill country, but her mother had nine sisters with the last hame Albury. Three of them married three of brothers in an another family of 13 Albury's. Another of the sisters married a nephew of one of the brothers and one brother of the sisters married a niece of one of the brothers. Got it. Who is related to whom? All have the last name Albury. Is this wierd or what? If your name isn't Albury, forget it. There are no cars, only golf carts. There is no dirt, only a clean dump. There is no booze; alchohol is illegal. This is Man of War. What a strange name for such a strange place.

Photo20060525BankHours.jpg - 29613 BytesNotice how often the bank is open - one day a week. I guess the pace is a bit slow on Man of War.

After three hours, we had seen enough. We pulled up anchor and moved over to Hope Town, another of 2400 cays in the Bahamas, this one only five miles away.
