Rain, rain, and more rain
Two Turtles Inn and Bar
There is no place like this place
near this place, so this must be the place
Our waiter takes a break
We watch Eddy Murphy in Coming to America
He has seen the movie 50, maybe 100 times
He calls out the lines before the actors say them
We try to take a short cut home
The bridge is out and we attempt to
lower ourselves and wade across
We abort the mission
Jacket drying after
Washing it in the rain
Catching rain water
Great for washing clothes and dishes
Mike in his coffin
Sunday, waiting for the rain to stop
After Port Nelson on Rum Island, George Town is the height of sophistication, but ranks as a primitive outpost compared to an island like St. Martin. Its Saturday night, and we park ourselves at the Two Turtles Inn and Bar. The entertainment is TV; Eddy Murphy is playing multiple roles in Coming to America. It is hilarious and made even more funny watching the bartender call out all lines before they are spoken by the actors. He loves this movie claiming to have seen it at least 50 times, maybe 100 times. This is followed up by the story of Joe Dirt. Both movies were new to me. Both appealed to red-neck humor. Both were hilarious. It has been raining since we arrived in the Bahamas a week ago. We were blessed with sun over the Caicos Banks, but Ra has turned his back on us since we arrived at Long Island. Squalls, thunder, and lightning have been the order of the day.
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and customs was closed so we had to lay over till Monday to clear it. We didn't feel we could push the clearing in process any further back. Rain Sunday morning kept us on the boat most of the day.
