Sailing
We tried to charter a boat and sail around the Cape of Good Hope, but it wasn't possible. We had to settle for a beautiful sail in the bay with Table Mountain in the background.
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
Cape Town proved to have a lot of similarities to San Francisco, but on much smaller scale. They have a beautiful water front area called Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The area is jammed with outdoor restaurants, bars, shops, and dozens of street performers like the group on the left.

Lodging
This is the packpacker hotel were Dona & Stephen stayed. We stopped to check it out. South Africa is set up for independent travel like no other country I have every been in. These backpacker places cost between 70 and 100 Rand per person per night. At 8 Rand to the dollar that is $10 to $13 dollars. Even our guest houses were exceptionally inexpensive. We usually paid between $20 and $30 per person per night. And these were for very nice places. These is not one that I would not return to.
