Pictures are best hung with hanging wire which is attached to the back of the picture frame with two small eye screws. The eye screws are place about ¼ to 1/3 down from the top. Use an awl to make a starter hole for the screws. The length of the awl shank can also be used to measure the same distance down on each side to place the eye screws. The actual distance is not important, only that they be the same distance on each side. The point of the awl can be inserted in the eyes to turn them when they begin to get tight.

Once the eyes are attached, the hanging wire can be attached. It should have only about two inches of slack in it. A common mistake is to make the wire have a big upside down "V" in it when it is hung.
